here's a few from me.. no more having to go to stupid boring meetings.. no more having to go knock on doors in field service and waste my time!.

This is fun. I agree with all the above. No more skirts or dresses, just pants, jeans, shorts, swim suits. No more dress shoes or hose, because there are no more meetings where people judge me for my appearance. No more assemblies or conventions to lose sleep and money over and become constipated while attending. I don't have to worry about impressing anyone with my hairdo, makeup, outfit, brand of purse, jewelry or choice of vehicles. I can have the United States flag in front of my house and vote in elections and sing patriotic songs. I can send boxes of cookies and gifts to my cousin and his buds who are in the army, the Screaming Eagles.

I've been learning about Feng Shui and have wind chimes and fountains in the living room. Nobody calls me up on the phone complaining about how some sister "gave me a dirty look during the meeting!" Never do I have to worry whether some teenagers or unmarrieds are having sex. Let 'em screw their brains out! I just don't care and it doesn't offend me or affect me.

I don't have to prepare meals or drive shuttles for the quick builds. I don't have to be a good example for anyone except myself. I don't have to put up with self-righteous biddies or control-addicted elders trying to make me feel bad over trivial crap.

There are many more ways my life has improved but these are the first things that came to mind.

some become quite bitter and angry and become very activist.

others seem to just move on quite easily.. .

Deprogramming after leaving a cult has been necessary for my anger to diminish. Being treated unjustly, having our good name ruined by liars who remain in good standing, loss of friends (or, discovering we really had no friends) and lifestyle built over 30 years. And discovering how we were duped into servitude of a corrupt, power-hungry corporation. These events carry cumulative impact to say the least.

"Jehovah ALWAYS had/used an organization". How would you reply?

in a recent meeting with elders, an argument was used to the effect that jehovah has always [= throughout history] used, or operated through, an organization; therefore, the wts must be that organization today, since god must be using one.

naturally, i know what arguments i've used to counter that argument.

but i'm interested in hearing yours.

here in gettysburg pa last night night we hit a low of -4 degrees but we were blessed with some wind that dropped the wind chill down to -22..

We're in n GA - thermometer said a little below zero at 2 a.m. (last night). Now we're at 22 degrees, almost 4 p.m.

As long as the power stays on we're good.

I have always hated skirts, hosiery, dressy shoes/heels. When we decided we were never attending another JW meeting, every skirt, suit, tie and dress shoe went to the Goodwill.

If any future event requires a skirt or a necktie, we won't be going!
